New Year slinks in: happy photography all!

Welcome to New Orleans Photography. I've been photographing the beauty of New Orleans since the early 90's, when I purchased two Canon AE-1 cameras. I graduated to a Nikon F4 with a variety of lenses. Used the AE-1 cameras and the Nikon F4 to photograph street life in New Orleans: Mardi Gras Indians in particular. I then sold all of that equipment when I became enamored of the old rangefinders. Still have a beautiful monster, a Yashica Lynx14, and I will soon be uploading some of those photos. I have also used a Nikon Coolpix, and now have two Fujitsu finepoints, excellent little digital cameras.

Believe it or not, I've gotten great results from the Nikon Coolpix until I lost it. Photographed New Orleans post Katrina with that little workhorse: destruction, mayhem, protest, beauty and the beast in post-Katrina N.O. Also used the Coolpix for documenting some of my...ahem...bar life as it unfolded. Will soon share examples of all of my work. Moving back into the film mode with a recent purchase of a Nikon FE, a Nikon 135mm non-ai lens that I plan to have converted, and a Nikon 28-85mm ais lens.

If you're looking for photographic perfection/professionalism, you won't find it here. I have never cropped or photoshopped my photos. They stand for what they are: spontaneous expressions of life in this difficult, but beautiful city.

Yes, they are for sale. I'm doing card size reproductions as well. Email me if interested.
